The State and Motion of Trust

You can't choose whether or not you trust someone. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook), it just either happens or it doesn't. It's up to you to choose whether you listen to your heart or take a risk. One thing I've learnt is that, whether you do or you don't, trust is something that can be changed. Trust is something that DOES change and there's little you can do to stop it.
On the one hand, trust can grow and connections can flourish with it. But trust can also falter and deteriorate before your very eyes. Once set in motion, there's nothing you can really do to change the way it's headed. What happens when it reaches its destination and the state of trust has switched from transit to a constant? Well that's where the choice comes in.

You can't choose the status of trust; wherever it stops, that's where it stays. Until you decide to try and set it in motion. You could push it up, you could drag it down - at this point, every infinitesimal decision you make, every option you decide to take, could be the difference between trust and doubt. And you've decided to take the risk.

You can't choose whether or not you trust someone. All you can do is ask for the truth and trust that they're giving it to you. Let both of your decisions integrate and maybe the state of trust will change again.
