The Monthly Roundup: January 2015

Hello, hope you all had a lovely start to 2015, here are some of my January photos for you (apologies for the vast numbers of trees and the sky featured in this post!):

Let's just say I made the most of the last few days of christmas by taking out of focus photos of my lights before I took them down - sad times!

I love watching birds fly past and taking photos of them.

I went to see Nicole Scherzinger in Cats and she performed beautifully! It was a lovely night and I really enjoyed it!

Ren Skincare Samples

I recently started using some samples of the Ren "Vita-Mineral Day Cream", "V-Cense Revitalising Night Cream" and the "Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel" and I love them.

I'm going to start on the negatives to end on a high. The only major thing I don't like about these products is the price! Although it's not the highest price I've ever seen and still vaguely reasonable, I'm not a fan. Anyway, on to the positives!

Day Cream
The first thing I noticed about this moisturiser is the beautiful rose smell. A few of the cheaper moisturisers I have do not have a scent which is not always a bad thing but the scent of this made it feel like a true luxury product. It is fairly light but still moisturising and absorbed quickly which I was very happy about! Another huge positive is that it didn't react with my sensitive skin! A lovely product!

This is a really nice product with (again) a beautiful, relaxing scent - I love using this in the evening. It bubbles really nicely and did the job. I enjoy using this product and my skin didn't react to it.

Night Cream
I'm not too keen on the strong scent of this product, I find it a little too overpowering but despite the scent, this is my favourite product from the three I tried. It absorbed quickly, not as quickly as the day cream but I don't think that's a bad thing. It's also heavier than the day cream (which is what you want) but it definitely isn't too heavy. My skin felt softer, and even smoother, only a few minutes after application and as time went on, it only got better! I love this product and it didn't react with my skin at all! C'est Fantastiqe!

How to stick to your New Year's Resolutions

Yesterday, I published a post on my goals for 2015 - all of which involved changing the way you think. This one is for the more practical people. I set myself small goals all the time but I forget to, say, go for a run, write my next (long overdue) blogpost or sync my iPod. We all do it!

One of the ways that's helped me stick to my goals is using an app called "Balanced". You can set yourself goals, such as "Fitness", and set how often you want to do them. The app notifies you regularly (it was actually a notification to "keep my life in balance" that gave me the idea for this post!) so you don't have the excuse that you forgot! That's always helpful!

I've found it a lot easier to keep on top of things with this app and the best part is that it's free!

Hello 2015!

I'm not usually one for serious new years resolutions - to be honest, I'm normally too busy around christmas time and never get the chance to think about my goals for the upcoming year. However, this year i'm really jumping on the bandwagon and I've thought about my resolutions for a long time!

Many people believe that the ultimate goal in life is to be a better person, the best version of you. I believe that all goals lead to this so called "ultimate" goal and everything you do in life leads to this. I'm a firm believer of the concept of everything happening for a reason - I believe that the importance of a moment is not dictated by how good or bad it is but by how it alters the path that you're on. In a nutshell, every little thing you do in life defines you and if you do good things, positive things, then it will result in you being a better person than you were before.

All my goals this year lead to the "ultimate" goal, becoming a better person. I've based them all on quotes.

"If you can't change it, change the way you think about it"
I'm a fairly positive thinker but I never used to be. One of my goals for 2015 (and hopefully afterwards) is to remain this way.

"be the type of person that you want to meet"
This is fairly similar to writing a blog you'd like to read - It helps you find other, likeminded people who can help you to be ambitious and continue to work on these goals. It helps to you be the best version of you.

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think"
Being a good person is majorly helped by confidence and self belief, something that I have been known to struggle with. My goal is not only to try and believe in myself but also to help others believe in themselves. This means complimenting others regularly and remembering to let them know why you like them as a person, anything to give someone a good feeling about themself.

"Happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognising and appreciating what we do have"
This is very similar to changing the way you think about something. I believe that positive things disguise themselves as negative and the only thing you need to learn is how to notice them when they appear.

"Only those who care about you can hear you when you're quiet"
I want to show the people I care about how much I care about them by trying to listen to hear when they are quiet when somebody else may not.

"The grass is greener where you water it"
You get out what you put in. I want to put more into the things I care about to get better results.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my goals for 2015, let me know yours in the comments.
